QUEENSLAND Career Start Funding
Undertake training or gain a qualification at a reduced cost.
The Queensland Department of Trade, Employment and Training wants more people to undertake training in areas where skilled workers are needed. To help you do this, the government provides funding for part of your course through the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DESBT) funding for eligible individuals.

Student Eligibility
To be eligible for the Career Start Program, you must meet the following criteria below.

Be a Queensland resident

Be aged 15 years or over, and no longer at school

Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency

Not already hold a certificate III level or higher qualification completed within the last 10 years, (Qualifications completed as a school student do not count)
-
Not be enrolled in another qualification, even if deferred.

Participate in a pre – enrolment assessment

The courses available under our Career Start funding are:

Certificate III in Health Services Assistance HLT33115
Course Fees (Student contribution fee)
The course fee for a Certificate III qualification under Career Start funding is $95.
Concessional fee is $45

A concessional student fee is applicable for the following eligible students:

Student holds a Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card issued under Commonwealth law, or is the partner or a dependant of a person who holds a Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card and is named on the card

Student is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
-
Student has a disability
-
Student is an adult prisoner
Recognition of Prior Learning
Where an eligible student is granted RPL for one or more units of competency, the qualification price and enrolment fee is adjusted, and a new fee determined.
Credit Transfer
Where an eligible student is granted Credit Transfer for one or more units of competency, the qualification price and enrolment fee is adjusted and a new fee determined.

Fee Assurance Statement
Daniels Associates is required to protect fees that a student pays in advance for nationally recognised training. The requirement protects individuals should Daniels Associates cease to operate and consequently not be able to complete or offer a course of study in which the student has a prepaid enrolment.
To meet this regulation, Daniels Associates will accept payment of not more than fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500) from a student prior to course commencement. Following course commencement, Daniels Associates may require payment of additional fees in advance from the student, but the total prepaid amount must not exceed fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500) at any time.
Career Start Enrolment Form
All students enrolling in a Smart and Skilled subsidised program are required to complete a Smart and Skilled Enrolment Form. Daniels Associates collects your personal information for the purposes of training, assessment, reporting, administration and evaluation of the program you are involved in. Your information, progress and results will be reported to the DESBT Department of Trade, Employment and Training who are responsible for government-funded vocational education and training (VET) in Queensland. This information will be held securely and is governed by the Privacy Act 1988.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Your is your individual education number for life. It also creates a government authenticated record of your vocational education and training (VET) achievements.

To obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI), you’ll need a verifiable identity document like an Australian passport, non-Australian passport with an Australian visa, birth certificate, driver’s license, or Medicare card.

Deferring your Course
Under the Queensland Career Start program, you can defer your course for up to 12 months, but you must recommence studies within that period to avoid losing your funded enrolment, and you’ll need to complete a deferral application form
Consumer Protection Policy
For students enrolled in Career Start subsidised courses
Daniels Associates is committed to ensuring consumer protection as a requirement for Queensland Government Career Start subsidised courses. Daniels Associates policy for Consumer Protection is embraced within our Complaints and Appeals Procedure found on our website under student information
On notification of any complaint by a student enrolled under Career Start funding, the complaint handling processes specified within this Policy will be actioned. Complaints will also be monitored for continuous improvement purposes.

External Appeals for Queensland Government Subsidised Courses
Students enrolled in a NSW Government subsidised course, including any Career Start subsidised course, who are not satisfied with how the College has attended to their complaint or appeal may refer their matter to Queensland Department of Trade, Employment and Training. If we cannot resolve your compliant you can contact the Queensland Training Ombudsman.
