Skills Canberra – Australian Capital Territory Funding -

This training is subsidised by the ACT Government – Education and Training Directorate

How can Skills Canberra funding help me undertake training or gain a qualification at a reduced cost?

The ACT Education and Training Directorate wants more people to undertake training in areas where skilled workers are needed. To help you do this, the government provides funding for part of your course through the ACT User Choice program for apprentices and trainees.

STUDENT Eligibility

To be eligible to undertake a course through ACT User Choice funding you must meet the following criteria:

Are you:

  • Work in the ACT and be
  • 15 years old or over?
  • No longer at school?
  • Be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, New Zealand passport holder who has been a resident in Australia for more than 6 months or be a Visa holder with work rights on a pathway to permanent residency.

You also need to:

  • Complete a minimum of 15 hours combined work and training per week.
  • Have required supervision in your workplace to undertake a traineeship

If you answered ‘Yes’ to all four questions, then you’re eligible to enrol in a government-subsidised course with Daniels Associates.
